Lao Than Trekking Tour – Journey to conquer the summit over floating clouds

Lao Than Mountain is located in Y Ty Commune, Bat Xat, Lao Cai. The mountain is over 2,800m above sea level. It’s considered to be the “Roof of Y Ty” with fairytale scenery of floating clouds and sunshine. Its name – Lao Than, is very prominent in Bat Xat district, Lao Cai province. In addition, the ethnic H’mong groups also call it Hung Pong San.

Along the way, you will meet the friendly ethnic Ha Nhi groups with traditional costumes and green scarves are picking herbs in the primeval forest. You could enjoy various scenes there including: burned woodlands, ancient trees or breathtaking scenery of the stunning red azaleas in the glowing sunset.

Asia Master Tours organizes many group tours conquering the peak of Lao Than every week, departing on Friday night in Hanoi, and backing from Sapa on Sunday night. If you want to go on weekdays, we also set up tailor-made tours for travelers in demand.

Day 0: Friday

- Tonight you will take an overnight sleeper bus from Hanoi to Sapa, taking about 5-6 hours.

You need to present at 270 Nguyen Hoang Str to get on the bus to Sapa. It usually takes about 5 to 6 hours.

After 30-45 minutes of the departure time, the bus passes the International Airport, so if you just arrived at the airport we can pick you up.

Day 1: Saturday

4:30: Arrive Lao Cai, we will warm up and do some exercises to get used to the weather. Then the whole group will have breakfast together.

6:00: Head to Lung Po Flag Tower, where the national-renowned Red River passes through Vietnam. On the way, you can the see the magnificent panorama of mountain range, then we continue to move to Y Ty.

11:30: Visit Choan Then Park, there are two “parallel trees”. We will also learn about the culture of minor ethnic group Ha Nhi.

12:00: The group will take a break to have lunch.

17:30: Get to the camp, we will set up tents together. The group will prepare dinner together, you can join if you wish to. After the dinner, you can either take a stroll around the camp or sit down and gossip together. The glamorous starry night will leave you unforgettable moment.

18:30: Dinner is served. We will enjoy dinner and the breeze of nature. You will stay overnight in a tent that is highly equipped by insulated bed, comforter.

Day 2: Sunday

4:30: We will wake up and welcome the sunrise, then you will have breakfast with a mug of coffee or tea.

5:00: Embark on the final route to the peak. You will need to leave your belongings beforehand.

6:30: Reach Lao Than peak, we will take a break and view the sightseeing.

8:30: Back to the camp, we will pack the stuff and head to the first point.

12:00: It is time to have lunch and after that we will head back to Sapa.

16:00: Arrive Sapa, you will participate in herbal bathing service by Dao Do, a minor ethnic group in the North.

19:00: We will have dinner at the indigenous restaurant, here the renowned salmon hotpot, with the popular local herbs and the smooth rice wine. Afterward, you can visit the Stone Church by yourself.

23:00: On the coach head to Hanoi, you will arrive Hanoi at 4:30 on the next day. Tour ends here.
